Pictures!

Here are a bunch of pics from my road trip through the southwestern part of the US. You can read about it in my blog at www.karinsjodin.com/blog

The order of the pictures is a bit off... Sorry

Lots of trucks on I-40 West

Not so picturesque picnic area where I stopped to eat my packed lunch

Don't think I've ever seen a towed helicopter before

The Painted Desert at Petrified Forest National Park

Petrified wood - looked like a giant rock log

More petrified wood. Pretty!

It was hard to find a parking spot at Petrified Forest. Waited for hours to get that spot ;)

Old cliff dwellings from the 1100's. Walnut Canyon National Monument

Indian Canyon in Palm Springs. Quite proud of this pic!

Cool palm tree at Indian Canyon

Hitting an approach at the Kraft Nabisco

Beautiful views going from Nevada to Utah

Zion National Park in Utah

The river was dirty due to recent flooding

Zion again. The color changes were amazing!

We hiked up the side of the canyon, where the views were amazing!

Then we went to Bryce Canyon National Park!

The rock formations were unreal! Called hoodoos

And I found a cool tree!

I forced my Mom and Aunt to join me for a sunrise photo shoot. Amazing colors!

More rock formations...

Time for them to pose!

This formation apparently looks like Queen Victoria

Notice my ant-sized aunt to the right of the tree. That's how large the rocks were!

Posing for nothing. I didn't even give him a seed

More amazing formations

The "ugly" part of Bryce Canyon ;)

An even cooler tree!

Snow-covered hoodoos

Beautiful Grand Canyon!

The sun and shadows sure made everything more spectacular!

I'm trying to be artistic... Did I succeed?

My Mom and Aunt showing determination going back up to the trailhead

Relaxing on the way up the side of Grand Canyon

I'm posing on the way down the South Kaibab Trail

Grand Canyon dirt and dry skin turned out to be a strange combination...

Shadows and sunshine!

Enormous Grand Canyon!

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Even this was fun to take pictures of!

  1. We all know that the Grand Canyon is supposed to be big, but it's still a surprise that it's so HUGE!

Glad you enjoyed Bryce - that's probably my favourite!
